If you’ve always dreamed of becoming a fashion designer, ModCloth wants to help you make that dream come true. The ModCloth Make The Cut program is a recurring design contest that invites the ModCloth Community to design garments, graphics, or fabric prints. Its main purpose is to further their mission of democratizing fashion by producing clothing designed by community members. At ModCloth, YOU can become a designer! Their latest design challenge? Prints Charming.

Entrants will design a new print for a private label dress silhouette that is already being produced! Contestants have two weeks to submit designs. After the submission period, the ModCloth Creative Team will narrow down the submissions to 20, which will be sent to the guest judge, Amanda Needham, Costume Designer for Portlandia. After Amanda has chosen the 10 finalists, they will be posted on the Be The Buyer page for voting. There will be a week for the Community to vote, then ModCloth will contact the winner and update the contest announcement with the big news!
• Contest is Live Now!
• End of Submission Period: Friday 02/14/14
• Launch voting on Be The Buyer: Monday 03/03/14
• End voting on Be The Buyer: Monday 03/10/14
• Winner announced on ModCloth Blog (winner will be contacted personally): Wednesday 3/12/14
Send your entry in now and good luck!

I should have my daughter enter this, while she’s no fashionista she has an eye for patterns and colors and it would be a feather in her cap if her design even makes it to the top 20 for her college portfolio!
I’m a simple kind of girl but I know my daughters would love these items!
I love them all. #5 is my favorite though.
#5, #10, and #11 are calling my name! 🙂
I totally want #5 and #7!

I can spend hours browsing their site. Such cute stuff!
I love those designs. They’re so cute.
I love Modcloth they have some great pieces!
Never heard of ModCloth before but I really like #11. Would go perfect with a pair of black capri slacks or black slack shorts. Either way super cute.
LOVE all of those! I’m a bit print-obsessed.
I tried on a suit like Number 4 and looked terrible in it, needed bigger hips and boobies 🙂 Love all the looks!
#6 is cute. I think I can rock that.
Love the hearts, and I am a definite sucker for chevron!
The contest sounds pretty fun.
These Prints Charming with Modcloth styles are adorable! Such cute outfits for the Spring. Dying for the warmer weather to wear cute clothes again!

I love Modcloth – their designs are so pretty and feminine. I love the Morning Meander Top, so pretty! =)
Love all these designs and all the colourful prints. So fun and fresh
I love Modcloth – especially the romantic/whimsical pieces!
I am so not a designer, but I love #5 for sure. I can see me add that to my closet! Coming from SITS Girls!
I confess. I have a ModCloth addiction. That’s the first step admitting my problem right? I kinda need #1. Like NEED. It might be the red shoe thing… it would be a great addition to my wardrobe!
I’ve never shopped on ModCloth, but I do love Portlandia. It’s so weird. I may just scribble something down for kicks and giggles and submit it.
Fashion is not really my think, btw I love #11
#9 has a total Little Red Riding Hood about it. LOL. Fabulous fashion and blog. #SITSBlogging
Wow, these are all so cute!!! Stopping in from Sits!
I’m obsessed with bold prints lately. I love numbers 5 and 8!
I like these prints. I’m a plus sized girl, so prints must be flattering, but I love 5, 8 and the shoes are adorbs (10). I think my daughter would love them. I should also show this contest to my niece, she aspires to be a designer. Lovely 🙂 #SitsBlogging
This is such a creative post! I love these prints. #sitsblogging

Designing a dress for Modcloth would be a total dream!
My daughter would love all the patterns! Me? Bold patterns tend to overwhelm me LOL Nice to see another SPA 🙂
Visiting from #sitsblogging!
Ooh! I so need to check this out! I have always wanted to design something!! 😉 New friend stopping by from SITS.
I love the scarf and the leggings! I like to get my prints in with accessories like scarfs and I love tights 🙂
I am really digging the flower prints these days. I think that’s because they remind me of the 90s and I miss the easy, relaxed, almost shlumpy looking trends from that era so much!
That’s why I *had* to include the flower-print Docs. They felt like a throwback. 🙂
This is right up my niece’s alley! What an awesome opportunity!
I tend to be a bit conservative when it comes to prints. However, my daughter is fearless with fashion and I’m sure she’d do great with this contest!
Cute clothes, my daughter is always sending me links to dresses from Modcloth as hints
I really like that hoodie, and the longer dress.
Love really everything! but I would have to say #4 and #10 are my favs
